Make her a deacon...

This is a reminder that King of Peace will be worshipping tonight with our nearest Episcopal neighbors at Christ Episcopal Church in St. Marys. Jennifer Highsmith will be ordained as a deacon there tonight at 7 p.m. with Bishop Louttit leading the service. There will be neither a communion service nor a book study this evening at King of Peace so that we may join in the worship at Christ Church.

The ministry of deacons is largely one of taking the ministry of the church out into the world, particularly as a servant to those in need. This is something all Christians are to do by virtue of their baptisms. But it is also particular to the ministry of deacons as found in the Book of Acts and in the tradition of the church. Please pray for Jennifer as she enters this order of ministry.
