Kids in the Kingdom
The kids learn mancala
We kicked off our Kids in the Kingdom Week Monday with the first day's theme "We all need a savior." The kids learned how Jesus' birth was prophesied centuries before mary and Jospeh got to Bethlehem. They tried their hands at slingshots, like the one used by another famous Bethlehem resident, Israel's King David. The kids also baked bread, tie-dyed bandanas and more.
We learned that prophets are people who bring us a message from God. Prophets like Isaiah and Micah predicted Jesus’ birth. Through their words we learned not just that we could not be good enough for God, but that God would send a savior, his own son, to save us from our sins.
The handout kids took home with them on the day is online here: Bethelehem Star: Monday. Our Vacation Bible School continues from 9 a.m. to 12 noon daily through Friday.
